Puzzle Details

3x3x4 Mixup Cube variant with a hybrid mechanism of rails and magnets.
In the center there is a 40mm steel ball, which is covered by the eight triangular bases connected to the corners. Each of these pieces is held by 7 magnets. Also the pieces of the two middle rows are using two magnets each, being attached pairwise to each other, not to the center. The top/bottom centers and the edge pieces around are held by the corners with common rail mechanism without magnets.
The puzzle is very heavy because of the center sphere and the high number of magnets
(6*7 + 16*2 = 74 magnets).

Although (or because) the magnets are very strong, the puzzle tends to fall apart eventually during turns of the middle layers as the power of identical magnet poles press the pieces out of the mechanism.

Weight: center sphere 134g, total 319g
Size: 6.5cm, center pieces 2.6 x 2.6cm, corner pieces 1.9 x 1.9 x 1.9cm
